Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 in 1983) is a famous American actor. Particularly, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Originally from Worthington Ohio, she quit high school in order to relocate to Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first part as Rachel's Room's title character the web-based video series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. Her performance of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. film Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and she shared the Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) with her. Grace wanted to focus on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. The actress starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. She reprised her role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the main character Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. The actress was featured in 2013's sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith as a groupie, and also her muse to the stars that catches the attention of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. As a part of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the daughter and older sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens She appeared in small roles in her father's movies and was co-starring with her sister in Donnie Darko which is a popular cult movie. Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her leading performances in the romantic erotic comedy drama Secretary (2002) and the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which resulted in the Golden Globe Award nomination. She gained wider recognition after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercials she appeared in during the year 2006. Following her acclaimed performance as an unmarried mother of Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee and in the Big Bang and Hysteria. Apart from her character as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). The most recent roles were her character as the primary protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal has made her scriptwriting and directing debut in the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she won the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
